UDIA is excited to join NZPI’s next annual Conference, held in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington on March 25 - 27, 2026. The conference will take place at the head of the fish of Māui Hoki mai ki te Ūpoko-o-te-Ika-a-Māui, where we hope urban designers will join the yearly gathering of planners alongside the Iwi Kāinga / Host Tribes. UDIA is especially interested in the sub-theme of He Tāone Whānui – Our Urban Environment. We have some fantastic keynote speakers lined up and encourage you to submit an abstract on this or one of the other sub-themes:

• He Aronga nui – Our Central Direction

• He Taiao – Our Natural World

• He Ao Hurihuri – Evolving World

• He Māngai nui – Our Voices

All abstracts must be submitted by Friday 29 August, at 4pm. Acceptance is at the discretion of the Conference Committee, which includes Alistair Ray from UDIA. Submitters will be notified of their acceptance by late October. All abstract submissions must be made using the online conference form.
